Week Disrupted

by a trade show in LA named E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo)

I've been following E3 very closely this year - probably because I have my eyes on the next-gen console from Nintendo. Though nothing super surprising (at least to me) from the Big-N during this week, I was "Wii-lly" (*giggles*) satisfy with the stuff they showed. Not to mention that I am sold to their new controller (Wii-mote - *another giggle*). It looked quite fun playing with that it from all the promo videos and videos taken by others at E3.

They didn't announce a launch day, or the price, at E3 - only mentioned that it'll be 4Q this year. That bothers me a bit. I doubt it'll go on sale in November as Sony has officially announced that the PS3 will be on sale Nov 18th in the States. If the launch day is in December, that'll clash with my vacation and should I get it before/during/after my trip back home then? I was tempted with the idea of bringing the Wii with me back home and see if I can get my parent playing - testing Big-N's non-gamer theory. Hopefully more news from Nintendo soon.

Getting a Wii probably will means that I'll have to furnish up my place - finally! On the other hand, maybe i just get a nice 24" monitor and play my Wii using that. Either way probably cost about the same ($800 for the Dell 24" LCD). Hard core gamer might complaint the lack of HD support with the Wii, but that works out pretty well for me since so I don't really have to get my Bravia (which has a whopping $2699 price tag). Regardless of whether it'll bring a revolution to the gaming world, it'll definitely revolutionize my home space.

By the way, why do people sound surprised when I mentioned that I follow E3? Um...
