Saturday!

It was so difficult to come up with a title for a blog post - this will have to do. :P

Today was unexpectedly packed. King Snort IM-ed me around noon and chatted a bit before decided to go grab lunch. Given the choice between Red Robins and this new restaurant we've never been to, I opted to try something new. Amazingly, we succeeded in convincing (sounds more like tricking) MyEvilInsdieYou to give this new place a shot as well. Just for the record, MyEvilInsideYou doesn't prefer Chinese (acutally, any Asian except Hibachi Japanese) in general and the place we went to (Flat Top Grill) does indeed have an Asian ring to it. Hohohohoho.... I think the place is decent, but don't think either King Snort or MyEvilInsideYou will be going again. Oh well, let me grab Konphused next time.

We also had Ben & Jerry afterwards. Much to my dismay, it looks like they really discontinued my favorite favor - Bovinity Divinity. Seriously, B&J really needs to bring that favor back. (Wait, Google is failing me - I need to find the official description...Ok, got it) I mean, who doesn't like "Milk chocolate ice cream & white chocolate cows swirled with white chocolate ice cream & dark fudge cows"

Then we burn off the calories by sitting around a table at Karthik's place and play board games... kakakakaka... Played a new game called "Bang!" which is quite fun, especially in the last game where MyEvilInsideYou and I kinda team up to kill off King Snort. Oh and that's after our "jail card attack" on Karthik. Hohohoho....

Pizza for dinner and the day's wrapped up by going to the IMAX theater for Superman. The movie is okay, just isn't worth the $11.50 IMAX price tag. Besides, I really don't see/feel the 3D effects. A $6.25 tag (or at most a $8.75 for after 5:30p shows) would sounds more reasonable.

Oh well, it's another day~

No wonder I saw so many signs in Chinese

I saw this video earlier on the internet.

Nice concept, cool stunts. But in the scene where the kids are running in the streets, there was only a single ad in Japanese and the rest are in Chinese. I thought that was strange but figure maybe the scene in shot in area heavily populated by Chinese in Japan.

However, today, I found out I was wrong and that the ad was actually shot in HK. Here's the documentary:

Very interesting in my opinion. The lady yelling instructions was funny: "Don't look back, don't look back" & "Don't laugh, Don't laugh, Don't laugh...."

It's Just Not Happening Soon Enough

The Business Journal reports that IKEA is looking for site in the Milwaukee area that could be developed for the next couple year. Um...could you please speed up on that? I mean if my company can speed up the construction of our new auditorium by spending a few millions (30M actually from what I heard), I am sure you can afford the little extra expense as well, right? *wink wink*

It still sucks that Madison won't be getting one ourselves, but hopefully when they build one in Milwaukee, the shipping cost will be a lot cheaper than from Schaumberg. Hohohoho.....

Chicago trip in the brewing...

Just because I need my haircut...Hahahaha! Let see if I can manage to grab DNA to come up from Indy~~~

The company picnic was today. The weather is rather nice I have to say - at least for the duration of the picnic. It's been cloudy with random showers throughout the week, and I wasn't even planning to go if the weather is not decent. I remembered last year's picnic was horrible - it's rain quite heavily and there weren't enough tents. So I was pretty wet by the time the picnic finished up. But this morning/early afternoon we have some nice sunshine, so everything works out great.

KingSnort called around evening time saying they were going over to Jamie's place. I passed since I was just "waking" up from my afternoon after-the-picnic nap (actually went back to sleep after the call...Mwahahahaha...)

Almost, almost..

Another post on the computer/TV situation, aren't you bored with reading this yet? Mwahahaha...

Anyway, I did a search on Google tonight on New Bravia Fall. It looks like that there will indeed be a new Bravia line coming out this September (SonyStyle already has them listed). The sad news is that the 32" won't support 1080p (resolution only goes up to 1366x768). Therefore if I want to get a TV for the next-gen DVD or PS3, I'll have to go for the 40". Now the sadder part is that KDL40XBR2 carries a pricy tag of $4000 while KDL40XBR3 is another $300 more. Both of them is pretty much out of my purchasing power at the moment (unless I skipped my trip back home this December which I don't see that happening - which also makes me realize that my trip back home really is pricy. :P Or perphaps my brother will find a great job with a huge sign on bonus and decide to pay me back the money I lend him for his car...Um...that'll be enough to get 2 Bravias)

Allow me one last pic before I put this TV talk in the closet:

So the next decision is whether to get the 24" LCD monitor or not.

2 weeks? 3 weeks? Still no computer at home...

I have no idea why it's taking so long for me to buy a new computer this time. But yeah, I am still going back to the office to go online these days. On the other hand, i think I am close to conceding that Dell probably won't have any promotion soon on their XPS systems and I will eventually have to make some changes to my plans.

Since there's no discount from Dell, I am going to scale back on the monitor and get a 20" wide-screen instead. And for my upcoming gaming need (Wii~~~~~~), I probably will go for my Sony Bravia. The price has dropped quite a bit since the last time i checked so it's not too unrealistic now. Regardless it's still a Sony so it carries a $1999 price tag with it. Just found out that a new XBR line is coming out this fall. Man, another unknown variable in the equation. I guess more wait and see on the TV situation.

The other question is the timing. I don't think I can fork out the 2K this year since I am planning to go back to HK this December. That means the next chance for me to get the TV will probably be when I can my tax refund. So what should I do for the time between this Fall and next spring? Um...
