In addition to the US government, my lunch is also costing me a fortune. Like my co-worker said, it's enough to get a console game. Maybe I should think about bringing lunch (though i can already foresee it'll be a totally failure - well, no harm in thinking)!

wow, that's an EXPENSIVE LUNCH for thursday!!! (hehehe, my average is around US4 and 12 max)
Btw, I have given up bringing lunch - i mean, it can REALLY SAVE UP $ - but not very practical as:
1. those "see lai" colleauges at work will drag you for lunch together at least once a wk - important for social / networking, &
2. work's microwave is in such a BAD condition (dirty) that I don't dare to "ding" stuff w/ it >.<
so dinning out during lunch w/ colleague still have some "value-added" on top of "meal consuming"...
I pay out $15 on Thursday - part of it was paying one of my co-worker back for an earlier lunch (~$4). We did share a dessert so that's why the price was up. XDDD
Packing lunch for work during the week can be quite tricky! At one point, Steve and myself have been dining out very often during the week and I brought back some leftover (of course... for a normal American meal, I can never finish everything on the plate). So my fridge was stuffed with different types of food (Indian, BBQ, Chinese, etc...). Packing your lunch would sure save you a few bucks... but my buddy would IM me .. and say ... " are you in the mood for coffee?" .. then $$ goes to starbucks.
